Opening Doors For
Children Through
Speech Therapy
Speech-Language Pathology Services in the
Greater Toronto Area

Communication and expressing your needs are critical to establishing long-lasting relationships, but children with exceptionalities often struggle with these skills.
Addressing concerns early supports a child’s emotional, social, academic, and personal growth to prepare them for a fulfilling and independent future.
At AIM, our speech-language pathology services include the prevention, assessment, and intervention of speech, language, social communication, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders.
Early intervention is known to be crucial for children with communicative difficulties. Although some children may grow out of language delays, many children, especially those with autism, will not progress as quickly, or at all, without intervention.
Experienced Speech Therapists
AIM’s entire team is dedicated to advocating for your child and ensuring they have the means to communicate their hopes, goals, dreams, and needs.
Our Speech-Language Pathologist and Communicative Disorders Assistant have worked with a variety of individuals with unique needs. These include clients with autism spectrum disorder, global developmental delay, sensory processing disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, oppositional defiance disorder, neurofibromatosis, seizure disorder, asymmetrical crying facies, and more.
With this experience in hand, your child’s speech therapists will take the appropriate approach, steps, and methods to give your child the best possible opportunities to express themselves.

Speech Therapy Assessment
If you have concerns about your child’s speech, language, social communication, voice, fluency, or swallowing, AIM’s speech-language pathologist can assess whether intervention is necessary.
Assessments involve parent reports, observation, interaction, play, and occasionally formal assessment administration if appropriate.
Depending on your child’s needs, recommended intervention may vary in frequency (1-2 times per week), duration (30-60 minutes), or administration (parent training vs. direct training).
Rather than the ‘wait and see’ method, we recommend early intervention to prevent any further difficulty, address concerns, and set a child up for success in the future.
