FAQs About Our Autism Services
AIM offers a variety of personalized programs, therapy, and treatments for children with therapy.
The foundation of our programs is Applied Behaviour Analysis and Intensive Behavioural Intervention. We combine observation and evidence-based techniques with hands-on learning in small group settings to bring about meaningful behavioural change.
We also offer speech therapy, occupational therapy, psychological therapy, group programs, and a private school for children with learning challenges.
Yes!
At AIM, every child receives an individualized treatment plan based on their needs which allows us to adapt our programming for children with exceptionalities outside of autism.
Currently, AIM is developing services for high schoolers and a vocational training program for young adults.
If you cannot find a program right for your needs, please reach out. We would be happy to explore possibilities with you.
Every family that starts at AIM first undergoes a consultation process with one of our staff members.
During that meeting, we’ll discuss your child’s current needs, goals, and comfort level to determine the best-fit options for your family.
As we have seen more success, growth, and happiness in children who have time to adapt to new learning environments, we may suggest alternative programs based on your child’s needs.
Every child at AIM has different needs and every treatment plan we create is personalized, however, research suggests a minimum of 25 hours of IBI therapy per week for children with autism.
Long-term studies show that children who averaged 40 hours of therapy per week for at least 2 years experienced the greatest growth and best outcomes.
At AIM, we help choose the right therapy schedule for you and your family. We also encourage caregivers and parents to incorporate therapy practices into your family’s lifestyle and day-to-day life to reinforce the skills your child is learning.
